Yesterday we talked cards, today let's talk cookies.
I love baking Christmas cookies. I love making a huge mess in the kitchen when doing so. I love that powdered sugar and sprinkles get everywhere. I love thesugar cookie smell that fills the house. I love that my dogs stay beneath my feet waiting for a crumb or two to fall on the floor. I love that my countertops are filled with tins full of cookies from the oven. I love to eat them.
And that is my problem–eating them.
The numbers on the scale are screaming at me (as I wipe the powdered sugar from my mouth): "Get it under control, girl!"
So this year instead of baking earlier in December like I ususally do, I started now. Instead of baking the gagillion varieties like I ususally do, I stuck with a few family faves. Instead of doubling certain recipes, I just made one batch of each. I figured the shorter amount of time they are in the house, the less I'll eat. Anything left by Christmas night will go home with my son and the in-laws!
My layout for December 18 is super simple. Check it out below:
The sticker numbers are by Thickers. The other embellishments are from Ali's kit last year by Studio Calico.
